Our Focus

The idea for SHVSA took shape when these healers, recognized a disturbing trend. As sound healing gained popularity in the modern world, it became increasingly commercialized, with many practitioners lacking the depth of knowledge and respect for the tradition. Crystal bowls and machine-made instruments began to replace the handcrafted Tibetan singing bowls, and the teachings were often reduced to superficial techniques without understanding the profound spiritual and energetic principles behind them. Determined to protect and promote the true essence of sound healing, we came together to create SHVSA—a non-profit association dedicated to doing things right.

Our Milestones

Since its founding, SHVSA has achieved several key milestones that underscore its commitment to maintaining the integrity of sound healing. We envision an association that would set the highest standards for practice, ensuring that sound healing is taught and performed with the reverence and depth it deserves. • Development of Authentic Educational Standards: SHVSA's first significant achievement was the creation of a rigorous curriculum, deeply rooted in the teachings of generational healers. This curriculum, which spans multiple levels of certification, was designed to ensure that students not only learn the techniques but also understand the spiritual and energetic foundations of sound healing.

• Global Certification Program: SHVSA launched a comprehensive certification program that upholds the highest standards of practice. This program certifies practitioners, teachers, and schools who commit to teaching and practicing sound healing as it was meant to be—a sacred and profound art form. To date, hundreds of practitioners have been certified under this program, each one carrying forward the true essence of sound healing.

• Partnerships with Cultural Preservation Groups: Recognizing the importance of preserving the traditional aspects of sound healing, SHVSA has partnered with cultural preservation groups to support the artisans who create authentic, handmade Tibetan singing bowls and other traditional instruments.
